Key Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain Sybase databases, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
Monitor database performance and make recommendations for optimization.
Ensure the security and integrity of all databases through regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and access controls.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
Develop and implement database policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Collaborate with application developers to design and implement database structures that meet business needs.
Perform regular maintenance tasks such as data purging, index rebuilding, and database reorganizations.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in database administration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sybase database administration.
Strong knowledge of Sybase ASE and Replication Server.
Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of database security and disaster recovery procedures.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Relevant certifications such as Sybase Certified Professional (SCP) or Sybase Certified Administrator (SCA) are a plus.
