Principal QA Engineer

Job Title: Principal QA Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $115 Per hour

Position Summary: As the Principal QA Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the quality assurance efforts for our company. You will use your expertise in testing methodologies and tools to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and execute test plans, identify and report defects, and provide recommendations for improving product functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement QA strategies and processes to ensure efficient and effective testing of our products
• Lead the design and execution of test plans and test cases, considering both functional and non-functional requirements
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and specifications
• Identify, document, and track software defects and work with development teams to resolve them
• Continuously monitor and improve the QA process to ensure product quality and efficiency
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, providing technical leadership and support
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in testing methodologies and tools, and implement best practices within the QA team
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and testability
• Work closely with the automation team to develop and maintain automated test suites
• Communicate test results and progress to stakeholders, including senior management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior QA role
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience with both manual and automated testing, including test design, execution, and reporting
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools, such as JIRA or HP ALM
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience testing web and mobile applications is a plus
• ISTQB or other relevant certifications are preferred
